Summary:In this document we intend to analyze and reflect on the physiotherapeutic approach within the Integral Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities. We propose a meaning and scope to this concept based on ecological theory, in order to contribute to the knowledge in relation to physiotherapeutic action in this type of population. In addition, as an element that helps professionals in rehabilitation, to conceive from a biopsychosocial model the intervention in rehabilitation of people regardless of the condition they face. Therefore, its treatment should be focused on these three spheres, not only the biological aspect that is usually addressed as health professionals. To achieve this goal; first, an analysis is made of the reality of people with disabilities and the need for integral rehabilitation. Second, an explanation of why conceptualize integral rehabilitation within physiotherapy is made; third, a tour is made about the origin of this concept and its apparent meaning; and finally, an understanding and scope of the concept of integral rehabilitation from the rehabilitation professions is proposed.
