Ruddlesden‐Popper Manganites: Tailoring c‐Axis Orientation in Epitaxial Ruddlesden–Popper Pr0.5Ca1.5MnO4 Films (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 7/2021)
For Ruddlesden‐Popper Pr0.5Ca1.5MnO4 thin films grown on STO (100) the c‐axis lies in‐plane and two possible configurations are observed. On the atomic level the film consists of perovskite (yellow) and rock‐salt (blue) sub unit cell blocks forming a network throughout the film. Both lattice and pac...

Summary: | For Ruddlesden‐Popper Pr0.5Ca1.5MnO4 thin films grown on STO (100) the c‐axis lies in‐plane and two possible configurations are observed. On the atomic level the film consists of perovskite (yellow) and rock‐salt (blue) sub unit cell blocks forming a network throughout the film. Both lattice and packing induced stress fields result in formation of perpendicularly aligned cracks (mirroring the micro‐structure). More details can be found in article number 2002049 by Sarah Hoffmann‐Urlaub and co‐workers. |
