--Michele G. Bemis has been named national convention sales manager at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. She worked with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where she was a sales manager at the Hilton Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton for three years and was the hotel's director of catering for four years. Before that, she spent eight years as director of catering for Guest Quarters Suite Hotel/Doubletree Guest Suites in Fort Lauderdale. --Steel Hector & Davis has welcomed four new partners. Digna French joined the firm in 1998. She maintains a state and federal practice in the Miami office, where she handles complex and multidistrict litigation and products liability defense. Carlotta Roos has been with Steel Hector & Davis since 1998. She works in the Miami office where she handles complex commercial litigation in state and federal court. She also specializes in employment law, representing local, national and international employers with litigation, administrative proceedings, policy drafting, training, and counseling matters. Richard Winston joined the firm in 2002. He practices corporate and international taxation, specializing in structuring and analyzing domestic and cross-border transactions for U.S. and foreign multinationals in the firm's Miami office. Scott Coffey has been with the firm since 2001. He is a corporate attorney in the West Palm Beach office. The firm also has hired Lorenzo Moll Parron as an associate in the real estate practice in Miami. He was with Freeman, Haber, Rojas & Stanham, where he represented clients in the purchase, sale and development of real estate. --Cragi B.
