Summary: | This article analyses the wave of female comedians, that appeared between 2003 and 2007 in French television talk shows and diversified the repertoire of femininity. Even though they are less numerous than male humorists, those comedians have developed a humor that transforms women and femininity from an object of mockery into an active subject of laugh. This article argues that female comedians in talk shows have renewed comic devices by introducing the body as an active element of laugh, and reveal the modes of categorisation of gender through "hyperfemininities" and "masculine femininities".
