Summary:Reports on 'Fashion's World Cities', a conference at London College of Fashion and the Museum of London, 29-30 April 2005. The conference was part of the Cultures of Consumption collaborative project 'Shopping Routes: networks of fashion consumption in London's West End 1945-1979', based at London College of Fashion, Royal Holloway College, University of London, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The conference dealt with the connections between fashion cultures and the modern metropolis, with day two focusing on London and the 'Shopping Routes Project'. The keynote lecture 'Urbane Fashion: fashionability and the city' was delivered by Elizabeth Wilson of the University of the Arts, London, and made the point that the interaction among people, fashion and urban environments is a complex and constantly changing process.
