Laser-induced voltage (LIV) enhancement of La sub(2/3)Sr sub(1/3)MnO sub(3) films with Ag addition

Summary:La sub(2/3)Sr sub(1/3)MnO sub(3):Ag sub( x )(LSMO:Ag sub( x ), x=0, 0.04, 0.08, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30) films were grown on vicinal cut LaAlO sub(3) (LAO) substrates by pulsed laser deposition technique (PLD). It is found that laser-induced voltage (LIV) of LSMO:Ag sub( x )films is improved and enhanced by Ag addition. With x increasing, figure of merit (F sub(m )) and anisotropic Seebeck coefficient ( Delta S) of LSMO:Ag sub( x )(x=0.08) films reach the maximum values of 28.25 mV/ns and 0.38 mu V/K, respectively. The results suggest that the LIV enhancement of LSMO:Ag sub( x )films is due to the anisotropy of the Seebeck tensor, which is produced by long range cooperative Jahn-Teller distortions with Ag addition.
