Preparation and physical properties of Y-Ba-Na-Cu-O high-T sub(c) superconductors

This paper studies the Y-Ba-Na-Cu-O system in detail. Sodium-doped samples corresponding to nominal composition Y sub(0.3)Ba sub(0.7-x)Na sub(x)CuO sub(7- delta ) are prepared from high purity powder reagents of Y sub(2)O sub(3), BaCaO sub(3), CuO and Na sub(2)C sub(2)O sub(4). Heating of the mixtur...

Summary:This paper studies the Y-Ba-Na-Cu-O system in detail. Sodium-doped samples corresponding to nominal composition Y sub(0.3)Ba sub(0.7-x)Na sub(x)CuO sub(7- delta ) are prepared from high purity powder reagents of Y sub(2)O sub(3), BaCaO sub(3), CuO and Na sub(2)C sub(2)O sub(4). Heating of the mixture is carried out at 800 degree C for 24 h and the furnace is cooled to room temperature. To find the electrical d.c. resistivity of the samples, the usual four-probe technique is adopted.
