Summary:The economic costs and carbon dioxide emission reduction potential of several bioenergy processing options are compared. The analysis focuses on options favorable for realizing the largest CO sub(2) reduction at lowest cost in Sweden. he greatest and most long-term sustainable emission reduction would be attained by refining woody biomass to fuel pellets for coal substitution. Only half of the reduction associated with this option would be achieved by refining biofuel to motor fuels.
