Pond water was monitored at monthly intervals from April to September 2009. The data measured from different seasons showed seasonal variations with respect to temperature (29-34 degree Celsius), turbidity (40-55 cm), pH (7.6-8.4), dissolved oxygen (4.2-6.9 ml/lit), carbon-dioxide (0.04-0.08 ml/lit), salinity (25-34 ppt), total hardness (147-160 mg/lit), calcium (76-98 mg/lit), magnesium (108-135 mg/lit) phosphate (0.112-0.180 mg/lit), silicate (50-56 mg/lit), ammonia (0.05-0.09 mg/lit) and nitrate (0.5-0.8 mg/lit). Temperature, pH, salinity, carbon-di-oxide, total hardness, magnesium, calcium, phosphate and nitrate were found to be maximum in the period of summer. Turbidity, dissolved oxygen, silicate and ammonia were recorded maximum during monsoon.
