Summary: | A block coded modulation scheme using the L-phase-level coherent frequency/phase modulated (LCFPM) signal is investigated for the additive white Gaussian noise channel. Comparison of the power efficiencies between the block coded LCFPM signal and the binary frequency shift keying/L-ary phase shift keying (2FSK/LPSK) signal is given in terms of coding gains. It is found that block coded LCFPM is competitive, and in some cases superior, in power efficiency to block coded 2FSK/2LPSK. |
