Summary:This paper presents an evaluation of flotation column equipped with two vertical rotating blades in the field of ink removal by flotation technology. The experiments were performed in a laboratory flotation column. The bubbles were photographed by both still and video digital camera. The flotation tests were carried out at different feed ink concentrations and different blade rotation speeds. The tested rotation speeds were 44, 60, and 99 rpm. At low feed ink concentrations and rotation speed of 60 rpm, the ink recovery increased by nearly 20% compared to that obtained in the absence of rotation. Furthermore, the photographs showed the effect of rotation speed on the bubbles behavior in the collection zone and helped in interpret the flotation results.
