Summary: | The genus Steinovelia Polhemus Polhemus, 1993 is distributed from southeastern Canada to northeastern Argentina and has been considered to contain five valid species: S. permista (Drake, 1951a), S. placida (Drake, 1951a), S. stagnalis (Burmeister, 1835), S. vinnula (Drake, 1951b) and S. virgata (White, 1879a). We present here a revision of the genus with redescriptions of S. permista, S. stagnalis, S. vinnula, and S. virgata, the synonymy of S. placida with S. virgata, a key, distribution maps, and photographs of all species. |
