Summary:The present review is devoted to the problem of diagnostics and treatment of pyoinflammatory ENT diseases in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Modern concepts of pathological changes in the immune system and specific features of the pyogenic process in ears, nose, and throat are discussed with special reference to the difficulty of the choice of rational and efficacious antibacterial therapy posed by diabetic complications.
