Summary:The outcomes of surgical treatment were analyzed in 68 patients with multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis. Of them, 38 patients (Group 1) received preoperative and postoperative chemotherapy with antibacterial drugs by the WHO standard treatment regimens, 30 patients (Group 2) used reserve antibacterial drugs. Chemotherapy and surgical interventions yielded the following results: 84.3 and 93.3% of clinical efficiencies in Group 1 and 2, respectively. The use of reserve antibiotics enhances the efficiency of surgical treatment in patients with multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis.
