Summary:Municipal sewage works as sources of ambient air pollution were studied. Mechanical cleaning catch frames, primary settlers, aero-tanks, and sludge sites are the major air pollution sources. The most important air pollutants are ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. Their concentrations above the permissible concentrations were registered at distances of 300-500 and as far as 500 mm from the aeration stations and sludge sites, respectively.
