Summary:Smooth-muscle tumors are not often found in the oral cavity. The tumors found usually are benign tumors of the angioleiomyoma type. We report a new case of oral smooth-muscle tumor, in the lower lip of a 74-year-old woman. Immunohistochemistry and electron microscopic study confirmed the nature of the lesion. Although some mitoses were visible, the outcome has been favorable.
