Summary:The data are presented on the use of fatty emulsions for parenteral nutrition of 68 cardiosurgical patients with renal failure in the postoperative period. It has been established that intravenous administration of fatty emulsions ensures up to 50% of an overall daily calories uptake, with the infusate volume restricted considerably, helps stabilize energy and nitrogen body balance and reduces the risk of complications associated with hyperosmolality and hyperglycemia.
