Summary:The clinical analysis and preliminary results of treatment in a group of 19 patients with malignant neoplasms of the external and middle ear, treated in ENT Clinic, Medical University in Lódź in the years 1978-1993, was reported. They were born mostly from auricle (in 9 patients-47.4%). In 15 cases (79%) squamous carcinoma was diagnosed, in 3 cases carcinoma of ceruminal gland and in 1 case basal cell carcinoma. Sixteen patients were treated surgically or with radiotherapy. The best preliminary results were obtained in glandular tumors of the external canal, the worst (100% mortality) in cancer of middle ear.
