Summary:The aim of this experimental study was to elucidate the contribution of the immune complexes to the formation of a secondary cataract. The immune complexes are formed after the lens extraction in case specific antibodies to the lens and its capsule and to the lens mass are present in the circulation. The immune complexes, fixed on the posterior capsule, induce antibody-dependent fibrosis, in other words, a secondary cataract.
