Systems of electromechanical coupling

The paper considers the participation of membrane structures of cardial, skeletal and smooth muscles in the electromechanical splings. Membrane control of the level of ionized calcium in myoplasm is analyzed in details. The evidence is presented on Ca-channels, Ca-pump, system of Na+, Ca2+-metabolis...

Summary:The paper considers the participation of membrane structures of cardial, skeletal and smooth muscles in the electromechanical splings. Membrane control of the level of ionized calcium in myoplasm is analyzed in details. The evidence is presented on Ca-channels, Ca-pump, system of Na+, Ca2+-metabolism and Na+, K+-ATPase of the surface membrane and Ca-pump of the sarcoplasmic reticulum. The controlling mechanisms of the processes of electromechanical coupling with catechol amines and acetyl choline are under discussion.
