Summary: | Recently, transition‐metal‐catalyzed C‐N bond cleavage has become an interesting research subject in organometallic chemistry. For the functionalization of C‐N bonds, it was mainly restricted to diazonium salts (Ar‐N2X), ammonium salts, triazenes, and imidazoles. This chapter presents a review of transition‐metal‐catalyzed C‐N bond cleavage reactions, with particular emphasis on the reaction conditions, including transition‐metal‐catalysts, bases, and side reactions for achieving selective coupling. It summarizes the impressive development of the transition‐metal‐catalyzed C‐N activation in synthetic methodology. The authors hope that this short review will inspire the synthetic community to continue the search for new C‐N reactions. |
