Summary: | We present a 2D particle-in-cell (PIC) model and the corresponding parallel code for computer simulation of plasma dynamics in open plasma traps. The mathematical model includes the Boltzmann equations for ions and electrons and system of Maxwell’s equations for the self-coordinate electromagnetic fields. The combination of the modified PIC-method and the Monte-Carlo methods is used to solve these equations. The problem of minimization of the plasma losses in trap with multipole magnetic walls has been investigated on the base of computer simulation. |
