Summary:Partial surgical closure of the nostril was performed in 20 patients suffering from primary atrophic rhinitis, and the effect of the operation on the ultrastructure of the nasal mucosa was studied and analyzed. It was concluded that the operation has a beneficial effect on the nasal mucosa and reverses the basic pathologic alterations in its microanatomy.
