Summary: | The humankind is facing a few challenges: war, crises, post-pandemic effects and so on, but climate change is the biggest environmental challenge of our time, because it is already affecting our lives, from climate, to agriculture, to native ecosystems, to infrastructure, health, and biosecurity. The social and economic impacts are significant, but can get worse if left unchecked. The causes of climate changes are not natural but driven by the human activities and way of living. Accordingly, human are the ones that should take the necessary measures to prevent the future deterioration and the actions should be concerted under a common umbrella. A very important voice should be that of EU, as an entity. The aim of our study is to reveal the interests EU members have in following the common standards set at international level by CCPI according to some relevant indicators such as Gross Domestic Product per capita, urbanization, Gross Added Value and Human Development Index. |
