Summary:Since leukocystosis and anemia are common findings in pregnancy, pathological alterations in hematopoesis, such as leukemias, can sometimes proceed undetected. Chemotherapy during pregnancy carries the risk of teratogenic effects on the fetus, and there is little data to guide chemotherapeutic regimens for leukemia during pregnancy. The following paper describes our experience in treating two women with acute leukemia during pregnancy and the immediate postpartum period, and reviews the relevant literature.
