Summary:Aim of study is the development of a novel and "low cost" method to generate a continuous refractive index gradient with linear and rotationally symmetrical distribution over the complete volume of inorganic glasses. It is assumed, that glass ions diffuse under centrifugal force. Selected homogenous glasses were processed in a new developed device at different parameters and refractive index gradients were detected.
