Summary: | The curing rate over one kind of MnO2 was relative slow for traditional polysulfide sealing, and it was difficult to flexibly adjust induction time and curing rate with low cost. The physical mixture of two kinds of MnO2 showed much rapid curing rate than that of corresponding single MnO2 alone, particularly, the physical mixture of δ-MnO2 and α-MnO2 showed superior curing performance to δ-MnO2 and α-MnO2 and lower curing rate than that of δ-MnO2 by photo assistance. The efficient and controllable polysulfide sealing can be achieved by facile physical mixture of different crystalline forms of MnO2 and/or turning on/off light. |
