Summary:People do good things because they are compelled and because they think it is right. Both reasons aptly describe how America dramatically improved the quality of its air, water, and land over the past few decades. Today, the US EPA is seeking a better balance between regulation and innovative approaches that are based on collaboration and environmental stewardship. A good example is the National Environmental Performance Track program. EPA recognizes that Americans can make sure there are fewer and fewer others and more and more companies that can offer solutions to the complicated and difficult environmental issues they face today.
