Transmission technologies can decrease the environmental impact of deregulated electric power

As deregulation changes the way electricity is bought and sold, it is also jeopardizing the reliability of the nation's power grid. Technology under development should both improve the gird's performance and decrease the toll that electricity generation takes on the environment.
