Summary: | The aims of this study are test the effectiveness of E-Learning model assisted by communication with urban ethnomathematical approach on the students’ mathematical representation abilities and describe students’ mathematical representation abilities in terms of the level of productive. This research used mixed method with sequential explanatory design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Semarang, with random sampling selected students of class VIII A as the experimental class. The research subjects were taken by purposive sampling technique consisting of: 6 students each 2 students at each level of productive disposition. Data was collected by means of tests, questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that E-Learning model assisted by communication media with urban ethnomathematics approach was effective for students’ mathematical representation abilities, students with high productive dispositions tended to be able to fulfil four indicators of mathematical representation and tended to be less able to fulfil one indicator, students with moderate productive dispositions tended to be less able. meet five indicators of mathematical representation, and students with low productive dispositions tend to be less able to fulfil four indicators and tend not to be able to fulfil one indicator of mathematical representation. |
