Summary:A total of 102 patients with post-infarction cardiac aneurysms were studied, with five of them (4.9%) showing aneurysms of the left ventricle posterior wall. The diagnosis of such aneurysms was based on the evidence of the comprehensive examination of the patient, with coronaroventriculography and echocardiography being the most important tools of study. All patients showed considerable lesion to the coronary arteries. The presence of circulation insufficiency and angina pectoris was an indication for surgery which was performed under conditions of extracorporeal circulation and cardioplegy. The late results of surgery were satisfactory in three patients.
