Summary: | The low numeracy ability in Indonesia is due to the lack of student’s ability to solve PISA and TIMSS questions. This study aims to describe the numeracy skills of students in solving PISA-like problems of change and relationship content. This study uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach. What conducted this research at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta. The subjects of this study were all students of class VIIIC, totaling 31 students. Data collection techniques used are written tests, interviews, and documentation. This research uses the triangulation technique for the validity of the data. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that (1) the numeracy ability of the low category subject had a percentage of 42%, (2) the numeracy ability of the medium category subject had a percentage of 48% (3) the numeracy ability of the high category subject had an average percentage of 10%. The indicator of numeracy ability that often appears is analyzing information displayed in various forms (graphs, tables, charts, pictures, diagrams, formulas, equations, and concrete objects to describe problems). In contrast, indicators that rarely appear are indicators interpreting the results of the analysis to predict and make decisions. PISA contexts that often arise are in occupation and personal contexts. |
