Summary: | An energy audit was conducted at the Tlokweng College of Education in Gaborone, Botswana, during January-February 2002. An annual reduction in electricity consumption of over 60% was demonstrated to be attainable. The audit identified annual electricity cost saving opportunities of $15,580 and annual gas cost saving opportunities of over $4180, representing nearly 60 and 33% of the electricity and gas costs, respectively, of the college. The greatest energy saving potential rests with upgrading operation and maintenance of hot water systems. |
