Summary:Information on the prevalence on Rickettsia spp. in free-ranging mustelids and their specific ectoparasites is scarce. However, stone martens (Martes foina), pine martens (Martes martes) and European badgers (Meles meles) are common predators in many regions of Poland. In the present study we used tissue fragments to determine Rickettsia prevalence in these carnivores by molecular biology techniques. In addition, we included a data on several species of invertebrates that commonly feed on badgers.
