Summary:In view of increasing number of elderly diabetic patients and their westernized lifestyle, diabetic foot and fractures due to fall attributable to diabetic neuropathy may be common diseases which disturb patients' QOL. Since any therapeutic drugs for patients with diabetic neuropathy have not been fully accepted, much attention should be paid to intensification of self-care for foot lesion and exercise and balance training through education. Some of them may show orthostatic hypotension, gastroparesis, etc. Others may complain of pain in limbs. Taken together, management for elderly diabetic patients may well be achieved through education and with symptomatic therapy.
