Summary:The aim of the present study is to present a possibility of temperature measurement of coal deposits inside. We will focus in this study on coal deposit from open mining pit Which are realized in order to deposit the coal before the its transportation to different power plants, by transporter belt or by auto. Coal storage have two roles: first role is to assure the operational reserve stock and second role is to be intermediate mixture step between different kind of coals in order to avoid variations of calorific value in boiler supply. Spontaneous self-heating is a major problem in storage of coal since the process, if not controlled, results in fire and important production loss. From this reason it is very important to measure the temperature because the temperature influence the evolution of oxidation process in coal stockpile and implicit coal self-heating. In this paper it is present a measurements possibility of temperature of coal stockpile using temperature transducers placed in different point and different depths of coal stockpile and thermovision camera.
