Summary:This study examines the factors affecting non-interest income (NII) of commercial banks in Vietnam in the period from 2010 to 2017, paying special attention to the relationship between competition and NII. The study levers on a sample of 216 observations and 4 estimation methods, including the least square method (OLS), the fixed effect model (FE), the random effect model (RE), and System GMM. Our study differs from other studies in utilizing the sample comprising 27 Vietnamese commercial banks and the use of GMM method to identify factors affecting non-interest income.
