Summary:The research of thermal transfer phenomena which occur during saturation dives, using Heliox binary mixture, had as purpose the identification of the mathematical expression for calculating the different categories of heat lost by the divers in these conditions. Starting from the measured values for breathing flow rate and body temperature, the thermal flux dissipated by eight subjects was assessed. These subjects were separated into two groups of four: the first group dived in saturation with Heliox at 60m "stage depth" and the second one at 30m. The obtained results were compared with the results obtained from the unitary dives, done beforehand, in the same conditions, but with air as breathing mixture. In this way the more intense thermal transfers were highlighted and implicitly the rapid cooling of the deep sea divers, when using Heliox, compared to the dives using air, previously studied.
