Summary:The geographic position and the relief in this basin have led to a great variety of the vegetation elements, and one can also note the intermingling of the areas occupied by species characteristic of the Dacian and Pontian biogeographic provinces. These elements have constituted biogeographic complexes and tiers, in whose repartition a basic role has gone to the structure of the relief. Thus, the following biogeografic complexes can be distinguished: the sub-Atlantic forests of the beech area, durmast (Quercus petraea) forests and mixed central-European forests (all belonging to the Dacian province), with mesophile oaks and herbaceous vegetation. The analyses out in the field have allowed us to notice that the vegetal layer in the north of the hydrographic basin of Dâmboviţa constitutes an important factor in the evolution and determination of the landscape peculiarities, this influence being manifested differently according to the composition of the flora of the phitocenoses, in close interdependence with the forms of relief and types of soil. In the elaboration of our work, beside the observations and data collected out in the field, and beside the interpretation of the bibliographic materials, we have used topographic maps, the maps in the National Atlas of Romania. A special attention has been given to the vegetal layer regarding its distribution in agreement to the environmental factors (lithology, relief, climate, hydrology, soils), in the entire area under analysis. Our analysis has allowed us to notice that the human influence has led, on the one hand, to the decrease of the density of the forests, leading even to the appearance of clearings here and there -therefore to the appearance of the first herbaceous formations with secondary character - and, on the other hand, to the modification of the composition on species depending on their different resilience to these actions.
