Summary:The study aimed to examine the relevant published literature to food practices in the first year of life of teenage mothers' children, through an integrative review within Lilacs, Medline and Cochrane, databases from 2000 to 2010. We used the keywords: adolescent, breastfeeding, mixed feeding and infant nutrition, from which we selected eleven articles that composed the study sample. The results indicated the paucity of published research on the proposed topic, especially for those focusing on complementary feeding, revealing a gap in global production on the subject. New researches, therefore, need to be developed with a focus on teenage mothers, exploring infant feeding in all its dimensions.
