Summary:In order to solve the problem that the contact transformer which is used to monitor the fault information cannot be installed on the contact line in traction power supply system and that positioning is not accurate when overhead contact system malfunction in all parallel AT traction system, a new method of fault location for traction network is proposed. The method relies on multiple fault location cells and the remote terminal computer. Each cell that consists of electromagnetic induction coil, intelligent fault indication box, GSM sync signal transmitter module and solar power module is placed on the tower along the way at a fixed distance (usually at 1 km), and they have the function of magnetic signal measurement and fault signal transmission. Compared with the existing technology, this method is simple, economical and has a strong anti-interference capability. By achieving the goal of accurately positioning fault location of traction network, the method paves a way for the safety of the train operation.
