Summary:After analyzing the reason of override trip caused by short-circuit fault in 6 kV underground high-voltage grid, the paper studies the related protection principles and the methods to improve the sensitivity and reliability of the underground high-voltage grid short-circuit protection in depth. On the basis of the current intelligent protector status in mine, the paper proposes a high-voltage comprehensive protector based on CAN network communication with selective short-circuit protection. Compared with the original protector, the proposed protector adds CAN communication interface module, which can make judgment by the priority of the multi-computer. Besides, the presented protector designs the display into independent CPU with communication performance. The actual operation shows that the improved high-voltage comprehensive protector can quickly and accurately find the fault point and cut off the power supply, thus, it can efficiently avoid the large area blackout caused by the override trip, reduce the hid
