Measurement of seawater pCO(2) using a renewable-reagent fiber optic sensor with colorimetric detection

A new method for measuring the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in seawater is presented. The sensor measures light intensity at the absorbing wavelengths of a colorimetric acid-base indicator that is continuously delivered to the fiber tips through capillary tubing.
