패스트 패션에 의한 환경오염: 현황 및 전망

패스트 푸드처럼 빠른 생산과 소비를 하듯이, 세계 시장을 타겟으로 의류의 최신 유행을 빠르게 쫓아가며대량 생산하고 판매하는 패스트 패션이 의류 산업의 한 축을 이루고 있다. 하지만 패스트 패션 생태계에서는 의류를 대량 생산하고 쉬이 버리기 때문에, 이로 인한 환경 문제가 사회적 관심이 되고 있다. 최근 소비자들의 환경 의식이 높아지고 있으며 환경을 중시하는 ESG 경영이 대두됨에 따라 의류 산업계도 변화된 환경에 따른 전략적 대응을 하고 있는데, 친환경적 생산 방법, 친환경적 소재 사용, 재고의 재활용과 같은 방법들이 바로 그것이다. 이와같이, 본 총설에서는 패스트 패션의 현황과 문제, 그에 대한 사회적 대응 방법을 분석하였고, 앞으로 친환경적 의류 산업을 위해 사회적으로 추구해야 할 방안에 대해 제시하였다. Just as fast food is produced and consumed quickly, fast fashion, which mass produces and sells clothing by quickly chasing the latest trends targeting the global market, forms an axis of the clothing industry. However, in the fast fashion ecosystem, clothing is mass-produced and easily discarded, and the resulting environmental problems are becoming a social concern. Recently, consumers' environmental awareness has been increasing, and as ESG management that focuses on the environment has emerged, the clothing industry is also responding strategically to the changed environment, including eco-friendly production methods, use of eco-friendly materials, and recycling of inventory. In this way, this review analyzed the current status and problems of fast fashion and social responses to it, and suggested measures that society should pursue for an eco-friendly clothing industry in the future.
