배드민턴 단식 랭킹 산정을 위한 Weighted PageRank(WPR) 알고리즘의 타당도

이 연구에서는 PageRank의 확장 모형인 Weighted PageRank(WPR) 알고리즘을 적용하여 국내 중⋅고등학교 배드민턴 남녀선수들의 단식랭킹과 팀랭킹 산정방법을 탐색하고 유용성을 검토하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서 수집한 주요분석 대상자료는 대한배드민턴협회(KBA) 주최로 2018년도에 실시한 중⋅고등부의 남녀 개인전 단식경기와 단체전 결과이다. 모든 자료는 KBA 홈페이지에 공개된 자료이고 MS-Excel과 R패키지를 사용하여 분석하였다. MS-Excel을 활용하여 수집된 자료를 정리하였고, R언어를 이용하여 링크에 대한 가중치를 적용한 WPR값과 Kendall 타우(τ)계수를 산출하였다. 이 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다: 첫째, 국내 남녀 중학생 단식 랭킹과 고등학생 단식 랭킹을 산출한 결과, 상위 1위부터 15위 결과의 경우 WPR 랭킹과 승률랭킹 간에는 랭킹순위에 차이가 있었다. 하지만, WPR 랭킹과 승률랭킹(WP_r)의 관련정도를 Kendall 타우(τ)계수로 검토 한 결과 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중⋅고등학교 남녀 단식 팀랭킹을 산출한 결과 또한 개인 단식랭킹 산정결과와 유사하게 WPR과 WP_r 랭킹 간의 Kendall 타우(τ)계수는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 WPR을 적용한 경우 선행연구에서 검토한 PageRank보다 WP_r 간의 Kendall 타우(τ)계수가 남녀 중고등학생 개인 단식랭킹과 팀랭킹 대부분에서 향상된 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 WPR을 활용한 랭킹 산정방법이 청소년대표 및 국가대표 선발 시 보다 공정하고 객관적인 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이라 기대된다. The purpose of this study was to calculate the rankings of individuals and teams in domestic junior Badminton singles by using WPR algorithm and to examined its usefulness. For the purpose of the study, it collected the results of the male and female singles events of middle and high school in 2018 published on the homepage of Badminton Korea Association. It used Ms-Excel and R language for data tabulation and analysis. It used MS-Excel to tabulate the data, and then used the R language to calculate WPR and Kendall tau values. The results of this study were as follows. Firstly, the results of the top 15 middle school and high school players’ rankings showed a difference between WPR and winning percentage ranking (WP_r), but the Kendall tau correlations between WPR and WP_r were statistically significant (p<.001). Secondly, the results of the top 10 middle school and high school teams’ rankings showed a difference between WPR and WP_r, but the Kendall tau correlations between WPR and WP_r were statistically significant (p<.001). Moreover it was observed that the Kendall correlations between WPR and WP_r were larger in most cases than those between PageRank and WP_r. From these results, it is expected that this study provides a fair and objective basis useful for selection of national youth players in Korea Badminton Association. KCI Citation Count: 0
