한민족 문학사의 통시적 연구와 기술의 방향성

남북한 문학과 함께 중국 조선족 문학, 중앙아시아 고려인 문학, 일본 조선인 문학, 미국 한인 문학을 하나의 문화권으로 바라보고 그 작가와 작품을 유기적으로 고찰하는 문학사를 새롭게 기술해 보자는 것이 한민족 문학사의 창의적 의도이며 도전적 의욕이다. 이를테면 북한문학과 재외동포 문학을 포함한 한민족 전체의 문학사를 작성해야 할 시기에 이르렀다는 뜻이다. 이 시도는 남북한 문학사의 성과를 이어 받으면서 지금까지 없던 문학사의 새로운 길을 내는 일이므로, 향후의 후속 연구와 자료 활용에도 초석이 되어야 한다. 크게 구분하여 남북한과 재외 4개 지역 등 모두 6개 지역이 세항을 이룰 한민족 문학사는, 하나의 일관된 문학사로서 통합적 기술의 성격을 가져야 한다. 하지만 각기 세항의 실상에 있어 상이한 대목이 많기 때문에 그러한 상이점들을 어떻게 전체적인 범주 안에 조합할 것인가가 과제가 된다. 한민족 문학사는 궁극적으로 지역별로 독립적 지위와 전개양상을 보이고 있는 한민족 디아스포라 문학을 독자적으로 연구하되, 그 개별성이 수렴되고 통합되어 하나의 문학사론을 이루는 데까지 나아가야 한다. 각기 지역의 연구에 있어서는 각기의 역사성과 문학의 미학적 가치가 결부되는 문학사적 평가가 수행되어야 하고, 이 개별적 가치들이 통합적 보편성을 가질 수 있는 공통분모가 한민족 전체의 문학사로 인도되어야 한다. 부분과 전체가 하나의 유기적 관계망으로 연결되어 있으나, 부분은 부분대로 의의를 갖고 전체는 그 의의들의 연합에 의해 공동체적 의미를 발양하는 문학사의 범례가 새롭게 시도되는 한민족 문학사여야 할 것이다. 이는 국경과 지역적 한계를 넘어서고 디아스포라의 개념을 분산에서 통합으로 이끄는 ‘도전적인 문학운동’으로 규정될 수 있어야 제 값어치를 다할 것으로 본다. Along with South and North Korean literature, bonding Chinese literature with Korean background, Central-Asia Koryo literature, Japanese Korean literature, Korean American literature as one cultural idiom, and newly writing literature history about these writers and their works are creative intention and challenge in Korean literature. In other words, it is the time of presenting the history of overall Korean literature including North Korean and the Koreans living abroad. This is a new trial of continuing the outcome of South and North Korean literature history, and creating a fresh pathway; therefore, it should be a stepping stone for future studies. The Korean literature, divided in South, North, and 4 other areas outside of the country which is a total of 6 areas, should be integrated and in cohesion. However, each area is differ respectively; how the differences could come together in one circle is left to study. Korean literature history ultimately researches on each area which comes with independent position and development. Yet it should build one ideology of historical literature acknowledging individual traits. Studying on each area accompanies with independent criticism and evaluation of historical and aesthetical aspects. A common denominator is the overall Korean literature history. Each part and the whole body is intimately connected but each is meaningful on its own way while the whole body prepares a common based as one community. Overcoming the limitations of border and area, and moving towards integration of diaspora from divergence can be together defined as “challenges in literature movement.” KCI Citation Count: 9
