Summary:Fatty change of the liver is generally found as a diffuse process involving the entire organ, although it may be accentuated in the central or peripheral portions of the hepatic lobules. We have encountered a case of focal fatty change of the liver which we disclosed incidentally in laparoscopic and bioptic examinations. Focal fatty change of the liver is a rare clinical entity at present which is generally encountered incidentally at postmortem autopsy. Therefore, the clinical course of the patient was described in this paper and the clinical and pathogenetic significance was also discussed.
