Summary:This case report describes a simple treatment used to correct an anterior crossbite in a child with autism. A review of autism and the treatment of simple anterior crossbite are given. It is possible for children with special needs to be managed in the general practice setting, although treatment plans may need to be modified to meet the capabilities of individual patients. Follow-up is required for cases of anterior crossbite treated in the early mixed dentition.
