Summary:In general, user identity management services based on blockchains, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, store both user identity information and management details on blockchains. This technique provides a highly reliable identity management service to blockchain users, but a security problem arises that a registered user cannot access the service if the personal ID for accessing the service is lost or stolen. In this paper, we propose a robust recovery method for user identity in case personal IDs are lost in the Ethereum blockchain platform, describing the development of a user identity management service based on the proposed method.
