Origen, estado actual y perspectivas de la Red Nacional de Cirugía Pediátrica

The strategies and results obtained regarding informatization in the development of the Pediatric Surgery National Network and its leading center, "Octavio de la Concepcion y de la Pedraja" Pediatric Teaching Hospital are exposed. The selection of this hospital in 2003 to host a project of a telematic network to support the pediatric surgery management in Cuba posed six main work guidelines: the internal network of the institution, the national network, the softwares, the websites and theorical informatization projects, knowledge management as well as the maximum exploitation of the best equipment of the territory. The results obtained in the development of the Telematic Pediatric Surgery National Network and its leading center showed that the gradual informatization of a hospital is possible with limited resources if the existing human potentialities are wisely used. Se exponen las estrategias y los resultados obtenidos, en materia de informatización, en el desarrollo de la Red Nacional de Cirugía Pediátrica (RENACIP) y su órgano cabecera, el Hospital Pediátrico Universitario "Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja" de Holguín. La selección del hospital en el año 2003, como sede del proyecto de una red telemática que soportara la gestión de la cirugía pediátrica en el país planteó 6 vertientes fundamentales de trabajo, a saber: la red interna de la institución, la red nacional, los software y los sitios web, los proyectos teóricos de la informatización, la gestión del conocimiento, así como la explotación máxima de los mejores equipos del territorio. Los resultados obtenidos en el desarrollo telemático de la Red Nacional de Cirugía Pediátrica y su órgano cabecera, demuestran que puede lograrse la informatización paulatina de una institución hospitalaria, con recursos materiales limitados, si se explotan al máximo las potencialidades humanas existentes.
